First Indian wedding?
Don't worry about getting things wrong. A few pointers so you feel at home.
What to wear
Colour is encouraged. For the wedding morning, avoid all black or all white. We're happy to help you find Indian outfits or drape a saree.
Early start on the 12th
The ceremony time is set by the priest for luck, so it begins around sunrise. Plan to be seated by 6 am. Coffee will be ready.
Shoes off
You'll often remove shoes near the ceremony area. Sandals that slip on and off make life easy.
Banana-leaf meals
Food is vegetarian and served on a banana leaf. Eat with your right hand if you like; cutlery is available too.
